Celebrate Spring -- variations on a bunny theme

I'm doing Easter cards, and I'm loving this bunny from the March Spellbinders' Celebrate Spring card kit.  I will be giving most of these to my friend who has been providing me with little cartons of milk throughout the pandemic.

This is as close as it gets to a production line for me. As much as I love these guys, I think I'm almost done with them. Probably.

If I were doing this one again I'd put some velum behind the bunny to tone down the flowers a little.

Spellbinders' Let Your Heart Soar, 11 more

Sure, so my challenge to myself is to use my subscription kits before the next month's kit arrives on the doorstep. I totally missed doing the January kit, but in my defense it arrived quite late in the month. We'll blame China since they are always a good scapegoat.

Anyway, I decided with this kit to see how much of it I could use up. I've done 21 cards with this kit and I'm down to 3, maybe 4 good diecuts,  sticker butterflies, and a few puffy stickers and quite a few of the chipboard frames. I'm not entirely done, but I'll be good and tired of it pretty soon.

For this card, above, I used a border die from last year with the "thank you" cut out of it, from some of the thin patterned paper.  I would like to thank Tina at Cards and Coffee Time for the idea of adding antennae with thin strips of card stock. It makes a world of difference for some of these pretty moths. The puffy stickers had them, so why not the chipboard ones?

On some of the dimensional stickers, I took out some of the foam sticker layers to make them less tall. For example, this plane was up on a foam dot, the trailing flag was up on another, and the little star circle was up on another. Too much!!

On the card below, I left the layers in the flower dimensional sticker, but honestly it might require a bigger envelope or another stamp.

For the card above, I used the stamp set and colored a bird with my Polychromos colored pencils. Also, I stamped the card front with a script stamp in Versamark and then clear embossed it.  Who knew Versamark could stay wet enough to stick embossing powder hours later?

Look at the difference the antennae make on the moths.

10 cards, Spellbinders' Let Your Heart Soar

So, on the last day of February I'm posting the first 10 cards from the February Spellbinders' card kit of the month, titled "Let Your Heart Soar".

I took quite a few ideas from other card makers, but the most obvious is that I used a bunch of embossing folders (Thanks, Tina, at Cards and Coffee Time)
I pulled out my old sentiment dies and an edge die for this one. There are only so many ways I need to tell someone to let their heart soar, but I always could use some thank-you cards.

I also pulled out this old sentiment from Lawn Fawn, since it really seems appropriate.

I don't know about you, but I'm not sure who I'd send a "Dreaming, one of a kind" card to. But hey, they are already printed. I'm loving the little puffy stickers.

And, the star of the show is this hot-air balloon die, pieced and inlaid just as fine as you please.

I have already made 4 more from this kit, but they are not photographed yet. So, watch this space for some more flying themed cards.  I figure I'll keep going until the March kit is due to arrive. I haven't yet EVER run out of stuff in the kit to create with. This time I'm trying harder!

Two more for Whimsical Forest

Ok, a couple more from the Spellbinders Whimsical Forest kit.  This was supposed to be a little diversion before the January kit got here. But the January kit arrived and before I could open it up, disaster struck in my closet, in the form of ANOTHER wire shelf loaded with clothes fell off the wall. This has completely thrown me off my cardmaking as I am now required to clean out my closet instead of having fun. Being an adult isn't all it cracked up to be.

Anyway, here are a couple more cards I slipped in before the February kit gets here, sometime early next week. No, I never even opened up the January kit yet. I have several unopened kits, so there's plenty to look forward to.

Valentines are not my thing. Need some help here?

OK, I'm playing with Spellbinders' small die of the month, "Lovely Card Creator", and it screams "Romantic Valentine". I mean, could you get more shiny, lacy, heart-y?

Now my challenge is to either find a sentiment that is suitable for me to send anyone I know, OR find someone else to hand these off to.

Stay tuned.

Whimsical Forest - an interim kit for me.

I opened up the Spellbinders' Whimsical Forest kit to play with until my January kit arrived (which it did on Sunday evening).  I put together 6 cards before I realized I can't find the stamp set. Where could it be?

Here is where I gave up and looked for sentiments in other stamp sets. I love these kits but the included sentiments don't often make sense for the kinds of cards I send, or the kind my friends do, either.

This little snail riding gnome is my favorite image in the die cut pack that's part of the kit.

Sometimes I think the only way to find something is to buy it again. But with something like a stamp set, that just bugs me. At least with tools or consumables it makes a little sense.

Two more from the "Heart Hands" kit.

Yes, I snuck in two more before the January kit arrived. I also opened an older kit before January's arrived, but that's a story for another day.

These are from Spellbinders' December 2020 kit of the month, "Heart Hands".
