Using up the bits & bobs again

Two posts in one day, fancy that!

These simple thank you cards are the result of me trying to cut the sentiment bubble on the edge of cardstock.   The scripty word die is from CZ Designs, and the embossing folder is an old one from Darice.  The butterfly and bug are from Spellbinders, over 10 years old.

Owl be seeing you, Spellbinders.

Spellbinders' small die of the month for March was this cute owl, loosely styled after Harry's pet, Hedwig.

The sentiment for this first card is from Sassy's LLC, who provided a whole bunch of free sentiments. Thank you, Sassy!  I had fun splashing the background with Distress Oxide Spray.

The embossed background of this is from Spellbinders' 3D embossing folder of the month for March. The sentiment is from an old set from My Favorite Things.

This card uses up some backgrounds that have been in the "to-be-used" box for YEARS. The sentiment is also from MFT. I can't decide if I like her eyebrows below or on top of her eyeballs. Above looks more authentic but also makes her look sleepy.  Below is the way this typically is shown on everybody else's cards.

SSS Card kit March 2024, part 1

Honestly, I was so excited to get this kit and now I'm kind of underwhelmed. I'm not sure why.

Maybe the next group will be better? This is called Mix and Match Butterflies, by Simon Says Stamp.

There are a bunch of shiny mylar transparencies that are kind of pretty but would make better collages if they weren't so shiny. They are hard to photograph.

The patterned paper is very pretty, and very busy.  I like the embossing folder shown here, although it is also hard to photograph. I'm still trying to get the ideal sandwich for my Big Shot. No tabs and one cutting plate is still too tight. Any advice?

Dinosaurs keeping it simple!

This week I got a full set of Distress Watercolor Pencils. There is a learning curve to them, of course.

I started with these dinosaurs that had been stamped and heat embossed onto some smooth Bristol card stock.

The sentiments are from an old Ideology sticker book. I guess with dinosaurs you can go with any number of unrelated sentiments.

Old stuff Tuesday

Here I used an old stamp from The Alley Way Stamps (aka TAWS). This is Nessie, mounted on a Distress Mica sprayed background.

Nessie is colored very simply with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. She's also tucked in behind a fluffy stitched cloud border from Lawn Fawn.  All of this stuff is over 5 years old except some of the spray Mica colors.

More postal

More using the postal dies from Waffle Flower Stamps. The top one is the new size for 5 x 7 cards. I used a bunch of little fish die cuts that I had in my "spares" envelope.  I keep a whole bunch of  extra white die cut stuff in there.

For the pink card I used an old WoodWare stamp that I've had in my stamp box for a very long time. The backgrounds here are papers I sprayed with Distress Mica colors because I wanted to play with them.

Going Postal!

Waffle Flower Stamps has a new series of dies, stencils, and stamps that are postage stamp themed. It's a bandwagon I'm happy to jump on!

The critters are from Waffle Flower's older set called "Rock On", and I had to have it because of the accordion playing bug. I love accordion music and I cannot lie. The plaid paper is from an old 6x6 pad from My Favorite Things.

This final example is using the stencil that accompanies the die.  It's ok but not to exciting, if you know what I mean.
